It's almost impossible to continue unless I use mods to manipulate the rules. ![]() I have 655k city that is 25-tiles mostly full and I'm mostly at limit. But is that about the natural safe limit for a city before vehicle spawning issues occur? Right now, with the map I created for myself with just a narrow river and small shoreline, I believe I can get to 200K once the Airport DLC-caused crash of tourists ceases. I don't remember off-hand what the vehicle limit is, but this is definitely a strong incentive for me to never go beyond 9 tiles. That said, I wonder if my strategies to have ample public transit are actually keeping me under the vehicle limit? My traffic flow is routinely 87-90% and I have immense traffic coverage that leaves the vast majority of streets wide open. Since there is no abandonment due to garbage that I've seen, maybe it's OK after all? And the garbage icons only show at the large service buildings like the industry HQs or the airport. I will say though I have enough recycling centers that even with the 2/15 usage, I am getting good pickup most of the time, and really I'm just getting the usual "It's taking too long for our garbage to be picked up" Chirper messages. With the understanding of your post, I am expecting that if I were to spread this out further it might work more effectively. So right now in my city of 175K (no mods) I have two "pods" of recycling centers at either end of the 9-tile map (roughly along a center highway), and the Ultimate Recycling Plant in pretty much the center tile. but roads are rarely the issue for this game.Ĭlick to expand.Wow this actually explains a whole lot. It is not very straight forward, as most people only know about fixing roads as they see this everyday in real life. New players can take a while in understanding this balancing act. If you have these three services laid out correctly, they should be able to prevent fires, crime, and sickness from large happiness they provide in the first place.Īlso, you can hit the vehicle limit easily at 100k. Using large service buildings means that they have more vehicles to dispatch, but they still only send out 2 vehicles, so it is cost ineffective to use them.Īs for the large services, I mostly use police, fire, and health, as they are not in as high of demand and they provide a lot of happiness. I also use only small service buildings for things that need a lot of servicing like death and garbage. The only exception is garbage as it CAN spread ground and noise pollution, which are fatal to residential, for several blocks. So when you get notices of lack of coverage, you need to make sure you have plenty of each service type spread out and not clumped together, not even 2 of them. This means you must spam services equidistant around the map, so service vehicles can be close to a cim requesting services. It is spreading the AI out evenly for better AI control. This 2/15 has always worked like this from day 1. ![]()
